Vee Berth
- New Pergo-style laminate wood decking added

- When the upper windshield was removed, the fiberglass

frame was replaced.

- Both windshield areas have SS trim that is yet to be
re-installed (currently stored in Vee berth)

when STBD engine had long block replaced.
What the boat needs:
What the boat needs repaired
before you run it
- Port engine side seacock is frozen shut. The boat
needs to be hauled out on rail system and this valve needs to be freed up or
replaced. This should not be done when boat is in the water. My plan was to
replace both seacocks.
- The engines need an oil change
Other things to be addressed
that are not cosmetic
- Fresh water accumulator might need replacing – there
is a leak at joint between plumbing line coming from water tank and the
accumulator at the accumulator. I can’t tell if it is the joint leaking or
a split in the accumulator. It still runs because I turned on the sink
faucet - that is the way I emptied the fresh water tank. Do not fill the
fresh water tank until this is addressed or the water will seep into the
bilge. This just happened
Saturday 6/28/08
. The tank has been drained to non-leaking level and posses no threat to the
boat.
- The fuel lines from the tanks to the engines needs to
be looked at. Here’s the problem: I had difficulty with one of the tanks
delivering fuel at the same rate as the other. The boat yard discovered this
when replacing the long block – with all the valves open at the tanks, one
of the fuel lines was smaller, but only at one point. The temporary solution
was to let both engines feed from one tank and avoid the smaller line thus
balancing the feed. I believe the lines at the tanks (all easy
top-of-the-tanks access) should be reconfigured to eliminate this even
thought the boat runs fine with this set up, it doesn’t allow use of both
tanks! It’s not a big item but one I would fix.
- Consider replacing bilge pumps. Two of three work.
Switches for the two that work are located at shoe level in dinette and the
other is in the main fuse panel in the salon.
- Radar post needs to be installed
- Get the CO2 extinguisher in the engine room
recertified.
- Get a new flare kit per USCG regs. Flares exist but
some are out of date.
-
Battery
boxes were remade new by me and installed in 2001. All three need battery
box covers made for them – this is a safety issue.
- Connect PA speaker before sailing – my plan was to
use a plug in arrangement because mounting the speaker permanently caused
some canvas issues and the thing would last longer. Right now it’s not
hooked up.
- Get bottom paint
Some Cosmetic needs
These aren’t certainly going to be all of them but are the ones I
can easily recall.
·
Canvas at Helm level needs to be replaced
·
Canvas for Cap Rail needs to be replaced
·
Put on port side strakes
·
Put on all SS windshield trim and add plastic trim found stored in
the Vee berth to all window openings. This plastic won’t last forever but is a
lot kinder to the wood surrounding the window inasmuch as it does not nee to
penetrated the finish to be installed or removed. This is the same stuff
surrounding the port hole collar openings and that has lasted 4 years. It too
could use replacing.
·
Touch up refinishing on exterior of the boat
·
Refinish Transom and swim step
·
Finish Vee Berth
·
Decide whether to activate fwd head
·
Install new salon carpeting and the SS edges
·
Have a party!
